What's On In 2007

2007 marks the 44th annual Darlington Arts Festival and this year the Festival is enjoying a renaissance with a highly charged committee putting the visual arts very much back at the heart of the Festival and re-invigorating the quality of craft stalls and entertainment program.

Highlights on this year's festival calendar are:

Retrospective of Richard Woldendorp's photography & Public Talk

Richard has been crowned a State Living Treasure of the Government of Western Australia for his contribution to the Arts. Drawn from his private collection, the featured artist exhibition will be staged in Darlington Hall. On the Saturday evening of the Festival, Richard will stage a public talk on Saturday 3 November from 4:30pm - 5:15pm for all to attend and share a unique insight for all budding photographers into the world of the lens. Registrations for the public talk are essential. Please contact Clare Stroud on 0407 988 412 to secure your place.

Darlington Dental Festival Sundowner

The Darlington Dental Festival Sundowner featuring Fremantle's Tetrafide Percussion will ensure anyone with a pulse won't be standing still!

As the sun sets, the energetic percussion quartet will create the beat for the regularly featured and popular Worn Out Wearable Art. Recycled art is taken to a whole new level through local high schools creating elaborate costumes that has had the town talking in recent years. There will be chance for local drummers to join in the fun and plenty of food and the popular Darlington Club Wine Tent to make a night of it. The Darlington Dental Festival Sundowner is an event for the whole family to enjoy.
